This Aromatherapy Certificate Program provides everything needed for the aromatherapy studies, including at-home blending practicums:

  • 50 essential oils in 0.5 and l ml size samples
  • Carriers (specialty oils, lotion, bath salts, French clay, aloe vera)

  • All forms and outlines needed to complete independent work and to use in consultation and practice
  • Diploma certificate
  • Qualification for liability insurance through the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) for an office-based aromatherapy practice

Course Content: 

  • Essential oil Material Medica and pharmacology: botany, extraction, chemical constituents, properties
  • Scientific case study methodology: client intake consultation, intervention development and application, evaluation of outcome

Purpose & Objective:
To educate health professionals in learning advanced aromatherapy practice skills for the deliberate and safe uses of essential oils for identified outcomes, through the personal mentoring of an experienced nurse-aromatherapist educator. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of how essential oils work therapeutically, the underlying science that supports their evidence-based application, how to perform clinical intake assessments, develop integrative plans of care, and create individualized therapeutic blends, to integrate aromatherapy in a private practice or clinical setting.

Certificate Program Requirements:

Each student completes thirty-six practicums, such as a simple skin patch test, product dilution calculations, formulating a facial blend according to skin type, a steam inhalation, therapeutic foot soak, blending a first aid aloe vera treatment and creating an Ayurveda blend according to a specific dosha.
